Racecourse Rafting TourA seven-mile, half day trip over Class II and III rapids. This is a great tour for groups and families seeking an exciting whitewater adventure. Paddlers work together to raft through wave trains, drops and rapids with names like Alberts Falls, The Herring Bone, Narrows, Deadfoot, Big Rock, Sleeping Beauty, and Soushole. This stretch is our most popular way to have a fun time on the Rio Grande. Snacks are served at the end of this trip while the guides load the gear from our adventure. Trips leave twice a day from the Rio Grande Gorge Vistors Center 15 miles south of Taos. Choose between an 8:30 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. tour.

Wilderness Snowmobile ToursCome tour the mountains with us high above the Taos ski resort with the snowmobile crew from Wilderness Adventures. This scenic tour takes you to peaks and ridges high above the ski valley, offering spectacular views from beautiful private land. Each tour is kept small so your guide can ensure a great experience, on quality SkiDoo snowmachines.
Guests should dress warmly as if going snow skiing on a cold day. Each person should provide their own gloves and eye protection (Sunglasses or Goggles). Loaner snowsuits and boots are available at no charge for those riders without.
Season: Tours run daily from Thanksgiving Day through the 1st week of April.

Rio Grande Float Trip, Orilla VerdeThe "Green Banks" is a six-mile, half-day float trip through the National Recreation Area; it’s a perfect choice for families with younger children or seniors. This tour meanders around islands and banks flush with birds nesting in the Willow and Tamarisk. Buttes and cliffs of volcanic rock provide a relaxing backdrop to learn the history of the Rio Grande, or to enjoy the many swim spots along this Class I and II trip. Trips leave twice a day from the Rio Grande Visitors Center 15 miles south of Taos. Choose between an 8:30 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. tour.

Taos Rift Valley TourRide the new loop overlooking the majestic valley south of Taos. This trail just cut by the BLM last season provides intermediate to advanced single track riding along the rim of the Rio Grande and Rio Pueblo. A meandering 9 mile trail over the volcanic mesa amongst pinon, sage and cedar. This trail provides exciting downhills and small spaced uphill climbs to many viewpoints. This tour requires riding experience and familiarity with a range of gear selections. Tours are led with CPR and wilderness first aid certified guides carrying trail repair and lots of local knowledge. Come ride with us on one of our newly built suspension bikes. Tours depart daily with a reservation at 8 am from our shop in Taos. West Rim Box Overlook Bike TourThis scenic mountain Bike Tour parallels the famous “Taos Box” River section of the Rio Grande Gorge. The West Rim trail is an intermediate ride with many places to view the rapids. This area is rich in wildlife especially birds of prey such as Bald and Golden Eagles, Peregrine Falcons and Red Tailed Hawks. This ride is approximately 12 miles and ends with a decent into the gorge and refreshments by the river. Tour includes a Diamondback or Giant suspension mountain bike, helmet, guide, water bottle, transportation to gorge and back to Taos, and Snack. Racecourse Kayak TourFor a great solo whitewater adventure, you can choose to pilot your own Inflatable kayak through the Racecourse, or the entire lower gorge. Each tour has a guide, also in a funyak, to provide instructional training and demonstrate the basic techniques needed to run the Rio. Using a twin blade kayak paddle, you will steer your own 10 ft. inflatable kayak through the Whitewater. Paddlers for kayaking should be prepared to paddle and get wet!. Trips leave twice a day from the Rio Grande Gorge Visitors Center 15 miles south of Taos.
